Living in the Motel

A dispatch from the days of mixed-use, pre-zoning sprawl

The last time I drove down U.S. Route 11 in Virginia, I passed a neat looking semi-circular motel outside Harrisonburg, called the Village Inn. Later, while doing some map research for this post on a former diner, also outside Harrisonburg, I came across the motel again. According to the website, the site and apparently the structure date to 1936!
