A little island of nature in Greenbelt, Maryland

Last summer, in mid-July, I came across a listing on Facebook for an event in Greenbelt, Maryland (not far from where my wife and I lived before we moved to Northern Virginia.) It was a late-night meeting and talk at the town’s firefly sanctuary: a meadow surrounded by trees, deep in a local park, that hosts an improbable number of fireflies.
