Some Things You Need

What's a basic thing that just makes life much easier?

With the holidays here, I’m thinking more about cooking and shopping. (It’s interesting how you really get to know your house when you spend long amounts of time inhabiting it, beyond your daily workday routine, isn’t it?)

So: what’s a simple, everyday product/design/overall thing that makes it impossible for you to imagine not having it? I think about this sort of question with urban design, home design, and, of course, consumer products.
