Pedantry alert: Manassas Park is one of Virginia's many independent cities and thus is not "in" Prince William County, though of course it is mostly surrounded by the County, as well as the also independent City of Manassas. Very confusing!
I think the weather held back a bigger turnout - i was there for about 30 minutes and bailed. Maybe more people showed up later.
Metro is the region's biggest accomplishment of the last 75 years. It's such an incredible story that 4 distinct stakeholders (DC, Va., Md. and federal government) went against thr dominant highways-only ideology of post WWII era.
Also, Thr Great Society Subway should be assigned reading to area high schoolers. It's such an important book about local history.
Growing up within walking distance of a Metro station was a world opening lifeline as a teen, I would not be the musician that I am if I couldn’t have Metro’d my way to shows around the city.
I'll admit, most of my experience with the DC metro was in Fallout 3, but I've also actually ridden it before as well! The stations are definitely some of the best parts. Very nice, downright iconic even.

Too pedantic for me. (My favorite is Fairfax City not being "in" Fairfax County, but also being the county seat of Fairfax County!)
